Frequently asked questions

Why would I give my books away for free?
You'll save a lot of money. More than you probably think. College textbooks aren't a money making venture for students. Students spend an average of $900 per year on textbooks. That's a lot of ramen.
As an example: You might be able to get $20 for each used book you sell back to the bookstore, but you'll also spend an average of $60 for each used book you need. That means you'll still spend $200 for just 5 classes. With socialbib you would give away your used books for free and you'd get the books you need for free - so you'd save that $200.

On every match page there is a link to report problems you are having with the other member. If you decide that the other member is totally lame then make sure you rate them.

Which shipping method should I use?
We highly recommend meeting on campus (during the day) to exchange books if at all possible. While we can't guarantee that the person you meet up with is going to be hot - there's a 26% chance that they will be. If meeting in person isn't an option then we suggest using Media Mail via USPS. It's affordable (even for college students) and fast. For special-case scenarios you can always discuss alternative shipping arrangements.
